Julie was born in Yuendumu in 1973, a member of the Warlpiri clan. She is one of the five daughters of Telstra Award winning artist, Dorothy Napangardi.
Julie paints graphically minimal (dot style) designs of her country Pirlinyanu, a land of rocky outcrops and deep water springs.
Her main Dreaming is of this important water source near Mina Mina, for which she is now traditional custodian.
