Maureen Williams was born and raised in Coober Pedy, South Australia but undertook her secondary schooling in Port Augusta and Adelaide. She is well known for her landscape and dot art depicting her families stories from the Yankuntjatjara and Eastern Arrernte in Utopia.
This vibrant design depicts women collecting and hunting for bush tucker. The women are represented by the U shapes with their digging sticks. We can also see various ceremonial sites throughout the painting. The types of bush tucker include witchetty grubs, honey ants, bush fruits and vegetables.
