Alison Nungarrayi Larry is sister to Melissa Nungarrayi Larry. Alison lives in Kiwirrkurra, a community in WA. In this painting she depicts womens dreaming

This traditional painting depicts women’s initiation ceremony where senior women  gather together to teach their culture & dreamtime stories to their young women. 

They travel between one sacred site to another depicted by the concentric circles, teaching the importance of each site, their dreamtime songs & dances in the area of the artist’s birthplace. They also teach their young women how to survive & collect bush tucker.
