ABOUT THIS DIDGERIDOO AND TRISTAN OMEARA

This hand picked didgeridoo is made from a native Australian Eucalyptus tree that has been hollowed by a termite and then further worked on by professional craftsmen Tristan O'Meara to turn it into a higher quality yet affordable instrument.

Once cut, the tree or sapling has been allowed to dry, to help minimise and prevent the likelihood of cracks and splits occurring later on and the bark layer is also then stripped.

It is then further shaped and refined by Tristan to improve the sound and resonance. Tristan takes the didgeridoo back to a fine sand to reveal the character of the grain. He then applies 3 coats of a high quality epoxy resin to protect and seal the timber and further highlight its natural beauty. 

Tristan uses a very high quality 2pac epoxy resin that has special UV protectants in it and is guaranteed for 20 years without discolouration and that's on outdoor furniture!! As Tristan so eloquently puts it  "on a didj it should last a bloody lifetime"

The didgeridoo ends are also cleaned up and a small amount of chiselling is done, if need be.

The mouthpiece diameter is kept between 35-70mm and fitted with a pliable beeswax mouthpiece or ebony wood mouthpiee. The beeswax provides the player with a comfortable seal and is also adjustable to different sizes to suit each individual player.
