LOLA BROWN NAMPITJINPA - WATER DREAMING

Lola Nampijinpa Brown was born in Ti Tree in Central Australia. As a young girl her parents relocated the family in Willowra and later to Mount Allan near Yuendumu Community approximately 300km from Alice Springs in Central Australia. Lola was married for 25 years and has 7 children and 11 grandchildren

Lola predominately depicts ‘Pikillilyi Springs Dreaming’ in her paintings, which represent her connection to the land during the time of creation. The Pikillilyi Spring is a large sacred waterhole near Mt Doreen Station, where the ancestral spirits of Yuendumu and the Rainbow Serpent spirits reside.
