DULCIE PULA LONG

Dulcie Pula Long is the daughter of well-respected national gallery artist Jeannie Petyarre. She paints the Bush Medicine Dreaming which is typical of her mother's work and of many other Utopian artists.

In this painting Dulcie has depicted the area of her birthplace. There are various campsites and ceremonial sites. It is at these campsites that dreamtime stories are told and ceremonies conducted. The different colours represent the land and the various rockholes and sandhill found throughout Utopia. The area is also surrounded by bush medicine leaves & different types of bush foods.
