New Warlukurlangu Artworks Now Available

 

Spirit Gallery has received over 40 new pieces from the Warlukurlangu Artists of Yuendumu this week, and all our now available online and in store.

 

Warlukurlangu Artists is one of the longest running and most successful Aboriginal owned art centres in Central Australia.  It has a national and international profile and its art has been featured in hundreds of exhibitions and publications in Australia and around the world.

 

Warlukurlangu means ‘belonging to fire’ in the local language, Warlpiri, and is named after a fire dreaming site west of Yuendumu.

 

Spirit Gallery has been working closely with the Warlukurlangu Artists for over a decade now and is proud to continue showcasing their works  locally and abroad.

NEW ARNHEM LAND YIDAKI NOW IN STOCK

 

Its been a bit of a wait but we finally have a superb collection of 9 new traditional Arnhem Land Yidaki at the gallery.

 

Our traditional instruments are sourced from the Buku Larrngay Mulka Aboriginal community art centre in North- East Arnhem Land, under the guidance of Yidaki expert Jeremy Cloake.

 

This group of instruments have been meticulously hand picked for their artistic and sound qualities and are properly documented with cultural integrity a priority.

 

Included are 3 new Djalu instruments, a Djalu/Yimula collaborative and one of the finest instruments we have ever received from Larry Winiwwini – a perfectly balanced D that almost plays itself!

 

All Yidaki will come with a community art centre profile and certification.

 

Many of these instruments have cultural significance and represent truly collectable pieces from some of best know traditional craftsmen.

New Tristan O’Meara Didgeridoos Now Available

Some new quality high end O’Meara Didgeridoos have landed at Spirit Gallery.

 

We have also received some budget Omeara re-work didgeridoos – The re-works are slightly smaller/shorter logs.

 

They are not Branded Omeara didgeridoos however, these didgeridoos have been personally selected from bulk didgeridoo manufacturers in Australia and then reworked by Tristan to have a good sound and playing quality suitable for beginners to learn on.

 

They are all genuine termite hollowed Australian eucalyptus didgeridoos and come with a
“Camphor laurel” or “Acacia black-wood” mouthpiece or black beeswax mouthpiece and are finished with the highest quality epoxy resin.

Didgeridoo Update

The O’meara Didgeridoos have been so popular lately that he hasn’t been able to keep up with our demands…but we finally have a few.

 

In the next few days we will be uploading some new didgeridoos from Tristan O’meara, including some high end instruments finished with a beautiful ebony wood mouthpiece. 

 

 

We are also pleased to announce the arrival of some new CrookedStixz Didgeridoos. Beautifully crafted and finished, these didgeridoos will make a perfect addition to any collection.

Earl Clements Didgeridoos back at Spirit Gallery and New Yidaki Online

After a long wait we are pleased to announce the arrival of some new Earl Clements didgeridoos. Beautifully painted in the classic Western Arnhem Land style these didgeridoos will make a perfect addition to any collection. In the coming weeks we will also be receiving some new artworks on canvas from Earl.

 

A gorgeous bunch of new Arnhem Land Yidaki have also arrived including two special ceremonial large Djalu Gurruwiwi Yidaki. This is the finest group of Yidaki we have received in terms of playability and artwork. Check out our new Yidaki online.
